The Information Technology (IT) Department’s mission is to deliver exceptional business value to the City of Elizabeth City through collaboration with every department. Department Responsibilities
The IT Department provides strategic technology guidance, support, and solutions for all City departments. Our key responsibilities include:

Assisting departments with the acquisition of new software, hardware, and technology resources.

Maintaining and supporting existing software, hardware, and network infrastructure.

Serving as the primary contact for troubleshooting and resolving all IT-related issues.

Managing and maintaining the City’s telecommunications systems, ensuring reliability and performance.

Overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of all computers, peripherals, and network equipment.

Designing and reviewing information systems for new construction projects and facility renovations.

Developing and supporting data access and distribution methods for public use.

Procuring and managing all telephone, computer, and peripheral equipment for City departments.

Providing technical assistance, training, and support to all departments to ensure the effective use of technology.
