National Night Out Against Crime
"National Night Out Against Crime" is a yearly event hosted by the Elizabeth City Police Department. The event is nationally recognized on the first Tuesday of every August; however, many cities and towns across the country may gather at their own individually designated date & time to celebrate.
The purpose of this event is for citizens and police to come together, standing in a united front against crime. Elizabeth City Police Department has hosted this event over the last several years and it has greatly increased in both size and popularity. There are a wide range of activities at the NNO party each year - including live demonstrations from the Coast Guard and the ECPD K-9 Unit, a variety of public safety educational exhibits, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, car and truck show, live music & entertainment, many food/merchandise vendors, and a host of other games and activities designed for the entire family to enjoy.
Don't be surprised if you even witness a doughnut eating contest!
There is no admittance fee and everyone is welcome to attend...no matter what is on the agenda for National Night Out, it is a time of great celebration and unity between the officers of ECPD & the citizens of Elizabeth City ~ join with members of the Department and take a stand against crime at our yearly National Night Out event.
