Nestled in the heart of Pasquotank County, the Elizabeth City–Pasquotank County Parks and Recreation Department is a proud branch of local government dedicated to enriching the lives of more than 40,000 residents. Guided by a collaborative leadership structure including; the seven-member County Board of Commissioners, the eight-member Elizabeth City Council, and the seven-member Parks and Recreation Board. We strive to build vibrant spaces and strong community connections. Elizabeth City- Pasquotank County Parks & Recreation is committed to providing safe, free or low-cost, and fun events for the community; ensuring everyone has opportunities to connect, play, and thrive.
WHAT WE MANAGE
Spanning over 333 acres, the department maintains a wide variety of recreational facilities and public spaces designed for fun, fitness, and relaxation:

24 parks offering open green space and playgrounds

6 athletic complexes for sports and community events

3 outdoor tennis courts

4 public boat ramps for easy water access

3 recreation buildings, including 2 full gymnasiums and a dedicated Senior Center

A scenic 9-hole golf course and a driving range

Outdoor basketball and pickleball courts
BEYOND RECREATION
In addition to parks and facilities, the department also oversees 8 city-owned cemeteries and maintains numerous public grounds throughout Elizabeth City- Pasquotank County preserving both the beauty and dignity of our shared spaces.
