Senior Citizens
The City of Elizabeth City Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of activities and programs for citizens, age 55 years and older, including day trips, swimming and exercise classes, craft classes, informational seminars, etc. FMI call 252-337-6672.

Shuffleboard
Two courts are located inside the Knobbs Creek Recreation Center. Courts are available for play most Monday and Friday mornings. Call for reservations at (252) 335-1424.

Sight Obstructions
Sight obstructions are those shrubs, signs, tree limbs, etc. that make it difficult for drivers to see oncoming or turning traffic. If you have a sight obstruction in your neighborhood or see one anywhere in the City, call the Code Enforcement Officer in the Elizabeth City Police Department at 252-335-4321.

Smoke Detector Program
The Elizabeth City Fire Department supplies and installs smoke detectors in homes located within the City and Pasquotank County for no fee. For an appointment, call Fire Administration at 252-338-3913.

Soccer Leagues
The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) provides youth ages 5 – 15 years old with a well organized and structured soccer program. AYSO holds team registration each June and January for play. League play begins each September and March. Participation fee charged and participants receive a full uniform and insurance. Adult Soccer is sponsored for players who are at least 16 years old. Matches are played on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Northeastern Park. Team fee is charged and each team is responsible for paying one referee each match. The league begins play in October.

Softball Leagues
The Parks and Recreation Department sponsors softball leagues for children five years old and up and for adults. For more information, call (252) 335-1424

Solid Waste Management
For information on collection and disposal of solid waste, yard waste, appliance disposal or recycling programs, call the Public Utilities Department at 252-337-6628.

Streetlights
To report a streetlight outage, call the Electric Department at 252-337-6870. Citizens who would like to have public residential streetlights installed in their neighborhood should also call the Electric Department.

Streets Repairs
To report a street that needs repair, call the Public Utilities Department at 252-337-6628.
