Police Ride-Along Program

Residents can observe police work first-hand through participation as a passenger / observer in a marked police vehicle. Ride with an officer for a maximum of eight (8) hours (between 8:00 am and 12:00 am).

 

Safety requires the following rules:

• Must be 18 years old or older
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must abide by the conditions of participation and sign a waiver of liability form
• Rides end at 12:00 am regardless of start time
• Limit one ride every month 
• One participant per vehicle
• No more than 2 separate ride-along during any given tour of duty
• Rides must not exceed 8 hours per approval
• Requires at least a 48-hour advance notice
• Must present identification at start of ride-along
• Dress must be casual and neat.
